Affordability and comfort usually top the priority list of what you might think about when building
a home. The last thing on the list – if it makes it at all – is insulation. It should be a
top priority, though, because insulation can have a major impact on the comfort and affordability of your
home.
Once you understand how R-Values and air barriers affect the monthly savings on your energy bill,
then you’ll quickly realize that Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is the best choice. SPF will cost
you less money than any other insulation system once you move in. And the savings? They start immediately.
As for comfort, NCFI’s Spray Polyurethane Foam keeps your home warm in the winter and cool in
the summer. It protects you and your family from the infiltration of dust, pollutants, pollen
and even noise. It’s simply the highest quality insulation you can install for the comfort of your
family.
What is SPF?
Spray Polyurethane Foam is different from the protective coating you may associate with household and
furniture applications. NCFI produces it by mixing two chemicals, polyol and an isocyanate, in the
presence of catalysts and other additives using a specially engineered spray applicator system.
Once mixed, the chemicals expand to form an adhesive bond that insulates and seals the surface.
NCFI offers two brands of SPF:
InsulStar® is the most energy-efficient, closed-cell spray-in-place polyurethane
insulation system available. This high-performance insulation is formulated from renewable agricultural
resources, and is completely non-toxic after installation. It stops air flow into and out of your home,
reduces noise, and blocks the infiltration of dust, pollen and other airborne pollutants, and helps to
prevent mold, mildew and moisture. When applied by a trained GoldStar contractor, InsulStar®
quickly expands to fill gaps and voids, conforming to curves and spaces to form a fully adhered, solid
environmental envelope.

SEALITE™ is an open-cell product that offers significant advantages over fibrous
insulations. Like InsulStar®, SEALITE™ expands to fill whatever space it’s applied to, sealing
your home against air, dust and pollen infiltration in ways that fiberglass batting can’t.
SEALITE™’s efficiency will last the lifetime of your home, saving up to 40% of energy costs, year
after year. Applied by trained GoldStar contractors, SEALITE™ can be applied to the underside of roof
decks and between unconditioned and conditioned spaces, creating an environmental envelope that maximizes
your home’s energy performance. |
